Coating Definition:
(1) Normal spangle coating spangle coating
During the normal solidification process of the zinc layer, the zinc grains grow freely and form a coating with obvious spangle morphology.
(2) Minimized spangle coating
During the solidification process of the zinc layer, the zinc grains are artificially restricted to form a spangle coating as small as possible.
(3) No spangle coating spangle-free
By adjusting the chemical composition of the plating solution, there is no visible spangle morphology and a uniform coating on the surface.
(4) zinc-iron alloy coating zinc-iron alloy coating
Heat treatment is carried out on the steel strip after passing through the galvanizing bath, so that the entire coating forms an alloy layer of zinc and iron. The appearance of this coating is dark gray, without metallic luster, and it is easy to pulverize during the violent forming process. Except for cleaning, coatings that can be painted directly without further treatment.
(5) differential coating
For both sides of the galvanized steel sheet, coatings with different zinc layer weights are required.
(6) Smooth skin pass
Skin pass is a cold rolling process with a small amount of deformation on galvanized steel sheets for one or more of the following purposes.
Improve the surface appearance of galvanized steel sheets or be suitable for decorative coatings; temporarily minimize the phenomenon of slip lines (Lüders lines) or creases produced during processing of finished products, etc.
6.1 Passivation
The galvanized layer is passivated to reduce folding corrosion (white rust) under tidal temperature storage and transportation conditions. However, the anti-corrosion performance of this chemical treatment is limited and, moreover, hinders the adhesion of most paints. This kind of treatment is generally not used in the zinc-iron alloy coating. Except for the smooth surface, as a routine, the manufacturer conducts passivation treatment on other types of zinc coating.
6.2 Oiling
Oiling can reduce steel plate corrosion under wet storage and transportation conditions, and re-oiling steel plates and steel strips after passivation treatment will further reduce corrosion under wet storage conditions. The oil layer should be able to be removed with a degreasing agent that does not damage the zinc layer.
6.3 Paint seal
An additional corrosion protection, especially anti-fingerprint properties, can be provided by applying a very thin film of transparent organic coating. Improves lubricity when forming and acts as an adhesion primer for subsequent coats.
6.4 Phosphating
Through phosphating treatment, galvanized steel sheets of various coating types can be coated without further treatment except for normal cleaning. This treatment can improve the adhesion and anti-corrosion performance of the coating, and reduce the risk of corrosion during storage and transportation. After phosphating, it can be used with a suitable lubricant to improve the forming performance.
